VOTE VOTE VOTE

Primary voting has begun. Do your part. If you know whom you want and have a mail-in ballot - vote now and place it in one of 58 official Board of Elections drop boxes. You can even hand it to a person at the Board of Elections office in Gaithersburg.  If you've got no mail-in ballot, go to an early voting site on May 2 to 9. HERE'S THE LIST

Most votes are cast before election day.

Finally, if you still haven't voted during early voting, go to your polling site on election day by 8 PM May 14 and vote. We need your vote, we need you to weigh in. Our Republican Primary is very important - we need the best candidates to face the other party in November.

And watch on election night for the results. This year we should actually know the winners before you go to bed!

One more thing. If you can volunteer please do. We need folks to help the voters, to greet folks during early voting and give literature and answer questions.

SPANISH LANGUAGE RADIO

We're all the same...we're all different. All English speakers don't come from the same places and backgrounds, the same for Hispanics. In our diverse MoCo our top languages are English, Spanish, Chinese and then follow the chart with almost every language under the sun.

MCGOP has s Spanish language ad on La Jefa AM 700 WDMV, produced by the Maryland GOP Hispanic-Latino Outreach Committee. If you speak Spanish check it out. HERE. Essentially it says Vote Republican...you can't afford NOT TO!

If you'd like to donate so we can put more Ads on the air you can do that below. And thanks for your support!

MAY REPUBLICAN ORIENTATION GOING STRONG

"We've never seen numbers this big!" said long-time presenter Dan Cuda from our MCGOP Legislative District 15. MCGOP leadership has doubled down on its commitment to the monthly orientation with a new, easy-to-use RSVP button on the MCGOP website for new volunteers. "We know actively getting involved is a big step for many," says Dan.  "People want to know what they're getting into and get an introduction to the basics of the political process."

The orientation introduces them to local politics in Montgomery County and Maryland, the confusing set of political districts and offices,  and finally the organization of the county, state, and national Republican Party.  Finally, they learn the basic tools available to help them identify Republicans in their neighborhood and community.

Orientation is usually the first Saturday of each month. Volunteer HERE.  Read more here

WHERE IS THE OVERSIGHT AT MCPS?

By Joan Fidler

Montgomery County has a public school system that is a $3 billion high risk enterprise with 160,000 students and 27,000 staff. What are we as taxpayers and more important, our children getting for this $3+ billion? Where is the oversight? Where are the results? The part time Board of Education has failed miserably. Are there any other Beidleman fiascos hidden in the underbelly of the school system?

Do we really expect 2 FTEs in the County’s IG Office to oversee what appears to be an ungovernable organization? A structural change is the only solution.

BOARD OF ELECTIONS VISITS CCWRC

Dr. Gilberto Zelaya (center) with Chevy Chase Women's Republican Club members at MCGOP Headquarters

On April 23, Dr. Gilberto Zelaya, Community Engagement/Public Relations Officer for the Montgomery County Board of Elections, provided the CCWRC with an overview of the MCBOE election and poll worker services. He stressed the importance of recruiting Republican poll workers so that the BOE can maintain a fair election process. The BOE especially needs Republican judges and canvassers.

If you're a registered Republican who can serve - even half a day - please send an email to our Secretary, Lori Jaffe at [email protected] with your contact information. We'll pass it on to the Board of Elections with our thanks and the thanks of a grateful community.

FREEDOM TO RAISE YOUR KIDS

Kristin Mink, Bella Naughty, Marc Elrich

By Lori Jaffe

Marc Elrich doesn’t want us to have the freedom to raise our kids according to our values. We need to take back control over our kids’ future. You can help the Committee for Better Government limit him to two terms, but you must act soon. Ten thousand valid signatures must be gathered by August 2024. (See below).

Our County Executive wants schools to start teaching children during their first five years. He is fully aware of the effect of teaching children at an early age, while they are still vulnerable. “We know the first five years of life are critical to brain development for children. And this sets the foundation for all future learning.” But what will they be taught?

In his “Weekly Update Message on April 12, 2024” (0:26) Elrich extended his gratitude to the Montgomery County House and Senate Delegations for their “dedication in the support of the priorities of the Montgomery County Government and the 1.1 million residents we serve…”

County Executive Elrich has made it clear what his priorities are.
