Police Support

Republicans Show Support for Montgomery County Police

By S. Alexandra Tuttle

The most important goal of local government is to protect its citizens by providing them with a high degree of safety and security. As residents of this county, we support the efforts to do so with our property tax dollars. However, the goal of Montgomery County Council Member Will Jawando and County Executive Marc Elrich is to “re-imagine policing” in this county by decreasing the number of officer positions and making substantial changes in how police officers do their jobs.

Please join members of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee and members of the Chevy Chase Women’s Republican Club as we prepare to visit all six police districts in Montgomery County in order to show our continued appreciation and support for the brave men and women in Blue, who put their lives on the line every day!

We encourage you to join us on Tuesday August 3rd as we make our first visit to the 1st District Police Station located at 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878.  We plan to be there as they change shifts beginning around 2:45 pm.

We will be visiting the other 5 districts throughout the rest of the summer. Please contact us as follows:

Sandy Tuttle @ [email protected] or Patsy Dillingham: @ [email protected] for further information.  We would like to get a head count, so if you plan to come to this event, please let us know.

Davide Bossie Contract with America

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

It sure hasn’t taken long for President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the radical Democrats in control of Capitol Hill to show everyone that they have absolutely nothing to offer the American people except more out-of-control spending and tax increases.

In the first six months of the Biden-Harris Administration, innovative policy proposals, much-needed reforms, and new ideas are nowhere to be found.  A recent headline in Politico said it all: “Biden-allied group warns: Voters are largely clueless about POTUS’ accomplishments.”

And that’s because there really aren’t any.

Despite Mr. Biden’s empty promises of unity and building back better, what we’ve gotten in reality is something far different.  Instead, President Biden has given the American people a border crisis, inflation, and more division. The root cause of all this?  The President’s radical rhetoric and his socialist policies.

The power-hungry leftists just can’t help themselves.  The same old career politicians are returning to the same old playbook of pushing $3.5 trillion-dollar big government spending boondoggles that are as wasteful as they are irresponsible. Mr. Biden, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have been thriving in the Washington swamp for more than 100 years combined.  Did you expect something different this time around?

Other than finding new ways to flush taxpayer dollars down the toilet on their socialist wish list and tacking on untold trillions to our already unsustainable $28 trillion national debt, Democrat leaders on Capitol Hill are also busy revealing their true priority – the never-ending witch hunt of former President Donald J. Trump.  This is not what the American people signed up for.

These are difficult times for tens of millions of American families, and they deserve more from the party in power than more partisan taxpayer-funded investigations.  It’s a breathtaking waste of precious time and money when our country can least afford it.

The razor-thin results of the 2020 election were a bitter pill to swallow for conservatives for certain. Still, every time the Democrats seize power, it doesn’t take long to remember that they are the party of the failed status quo and Republicans are the party of outsiders, fresh ideas, and reform.

And because of the Democrat’s ongoing failure in 2021, an enormous opportunity has presented itself for the GOP in 2022.  It’s time for Republicans, independents, and reasonable Democrats from coast to coast to coalesce around the American conservative populist agenda that hardworking, patriotic taxpayers want.

Republicans must put to paper a new plan of specific policy proposals to offer the American people to get our country back on track and promise to vote on every item on the list by Independence Day 2023 if we take back Congress during next year’s midterm elections. Speaker Newt Gingrich’s bold recipe from 1994-1995 was the right approach.

A unified platform in the Trump-Gingrich tradition for American exceptionalism offers a lot of promise.

It starts with providing job creators with some iron-clad certainty by making the Trump tax cuts and deregulations permanent.  The next item on the list must be finishing the border wall once and for all.  Mr. Trump’s successful border policy was working until Mr. Biden came into office and broke it.  After that, we must get back to reforming welfare to ensure that able-bodied workers are always looking for a job, not just waiting for the next handout.  Mr. Biden’s doctrine of endless government dependence is wrong for America.

Our plan must support and fund our brave policemen and women in every possible way we can. American families rely on law and order to live peaceful and productive lives.  Ending the crime wave that’s been allowed back into our neighborhoods is imperative.  We must also outlaw the poisonous Critical Race Theory that seeks to destroy the fabric of our country along with passing school choice to give families alternate options to living under the thumb of powerful partisan teacher unions.  A new Republican majority in Congress should also prioritize moving legislation that finally reins in Big Tech and holds it accountable.

We should only seek to amend our Constitution when it’s absolutely necessary, and now is the time to move forward with two critically important measures that would dramatically alter the trajectory of America if enacted. Republicans should advance both a congressional term limits amendment and a balanced budget amendment immediately.  Let’s address out-of-control spending and those responsible at the same time.

And, we must never take our eyes off of Communist China.  The GOP should promise to create a 9/11-style commission to investigate the origins of COVID-19 to find out why more than four million people are dead worldwide – including  600,000 Americans.  Our country – and the world – deserve the truth.  Only America can make this happen, and it’s a shame the Democrats currently in power don’t have the guts. If China isn’t held accountable, their bad behavior will only continue.

An America First foreign policy must also show steadfast support for Israel against Hamas and the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, as well as the Cuban people over its brutal Communist dictatorship.

If Republicans were to come together, invest, and campaign on these measures in unison next year, it would be a powerful contrast to the incompetent Democrat mob that’s currently destroying our great nation before our very eyes. I know it can be done.

We owe it to all our fellow Americans to drive these popular reforms.

What is Covid?

Covid – What Do We Know?
By Paul Agle

As Covid-19 continues to threaten us with unforeseen effects and after-effects, it is difficult, even for those with time-tested memory banks, to reach conclusions about the virus that will stand the test of time. Here are just a few of the facts:

  1. We aren't going to eliminate or contain Covid, a virus with an estimated spread factor of 6. We can't even stop the flu with a spread factor of 1.3.  The spread factor has to be greater than 1 for a virus to even be contagious.
  2. To date, there have been 73,973 Covid cases and 9 deaths in the 0-19 cohort (school kids) in Maryland.  The number of 0-19 Covid deaths in Maryland in 2020 was about the same as the number of 0-19 suicides in MoCo in 2020.  For comparison, there have been 15,956 cases in the 80+ group and 4,235 deaths.
  3. Numerous studies, most of which tested 2019 blood samples, report that 20%-50% of the population has some level of preexisting immunity to Covid.
  4. Masks cause “mask mouth” (some combination of dry mouth, bad breath, tooth decay, and  gum disease), maskne (mask-caused acne), Candida Overgrowth (a yeast infection in your mouth), etc. etc. Putting a warm moist cloth in front of your face creates a breeding ground for bacteria and is a bad idea unless absolutely necessary.
  5. More fun with masks: a JAMA study showed that children wearing masks average 13,120 to 13,910 ppm of carbon dioxide in their inhaled air.  This is over six times the OSHA level.  The dead space in the mask accumulates CO2.  For perspective, global warmers claim a 100 PPM increase in CO2 (to 500 PPM) is dangerous.
  6. A randomized study of cloth masks showed that they only filtered about 3% of viral particles.
  7. Santa Clara and Alameda County refined their approach to classifying Covid deaths and dropped the Covid death rate by 25% by removing people who tested positive but were asymptomatic.  Not counting suicides and accident victims who tested positive for Covid as Covid deaths is probably a good idea, but makes the number of non-Covid excess deaths that much higher.
  8. China effectively dealt with the virus by nailing sick people in their homes and retrieving the bodies a week or two later.
  9. Wearing masks and isolation has created an “immunity debt.”  Other respiratory viruses will come back to haunt us.
  10. The U.S. has done studies to prove that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks of myocarditis (a heart condition). What is scary is they actually had to check.
  11. Having low Vitamin D and Zinc levels increases your risk from Covid over 100% (as does being obese).
  12. Studies show that children under 10 are unlikely to spread the virus, while children 10-19 are more likely to acquire it at school than by staying home.  Given that common respiratory illnesses have typically killed more children annually than Covid 19, this is a weak rationale for masks or closing schools.

The vaccines for Covid are the most deadly vaccines that the U.S. has ever released to the general public, and the risk of permanent disability is 3 times the death rate.  The Covid vaccines are several times as deadly as all previous vaccines combined.  The heart and nervous (mostly Guillain-Barré Syndrome) system  problems that can be caused by the vaccines are pretty serious.  Furthermore, there is no benefit to vaccinating healthy people who have had the virus (50% or more of the population).

Should you get the vaccine... Qualified yes.  If you are over 65 or have co-morbidities, and haven't gotten Covid, swing away.  If you have gotten Covid, no.  If you are young and healthy, it is a personal decision.  There is risk from the vaccine (particularly of permanent disability) and there is risk from Covid. The risk from Covid seems greater, but you might be naturally immune.  If in doubt, flip a coin.  Giving the vaccine to kids (particularly under 10) serves no useful purpose.

Quarantining healthy people kills more people than it saves. Taking China and the WHO's (and the CDC's) advice on a universal quarantine was unbelievably stupid.  There isn't any evidence that it saved people and lockdowns killed a large number of the under 60 crowd by driving them crazy and forcing them to live in fear and isolation (excess deaths were up to 50% of the Covid death rate for that group).

Keeping people indoors caused more Covid deaths by lowering Vitamin D levels. Closing outdoor spaces was based on deluded thinking (no one has demonstrated that Covid can be spread effectively outdoors). If the CDC had concentrated on rapid rollout of mitigation/prevention measures (Vitamin D, Zinc, Ivermectin, etc.) we could have easily cut the death rate in half.  The vaccine or bust strategy was unwise. Furthermore, Sweden, which never locked down, currently has about one quarter of the daily case rate of the U.S. (per population) and isn’t reporting any deaths.  That is where the US could have been without a lockdown.  The CDC made so many decisions based on “don't help Trump” that it should be investigated to determine how many people they killed.

Any mask law that allows cloth masks is pure virtue signaling.  Children should not be forced to wear masks, period. With the advent of vaccines, there is no reason for a mask law. There are four groups of people: Those who have had Covid, fearful people who have been vaccinated, people who are naturally immune, and people who don't care.  There is no one to protect anymore.

We need to remove the power of the government to order the quarantine of healthy people.

God bless everyone and God bless America.
